Malignant proliferation of lymphoid blasts in blood, bone marrow

How do you classify acute lymphoblastic leukemia?

Immunophenotype
Tdt enzyme only present in lymphoblasts (not present in more mature lymphocytes)

T-lymphoblastic leukemia typical patient presentation

mediastinal mass (because thymus is there)
WBC usually increased, super high
Bad prognosis
Tdt+

Prognosis for acute lymphoblastic leukemia

immunophenotype (T is bad)
Age (1-10 is good)
WBC (

Treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia

Chemo +/- bone marrow transplant

Many children are cured
