Q

Four ANA patterns are

A

Speckled
Homogenous
Nucleolar
Peripheral (rim)

1
Q

Speckled ANA seen in

A
Sjogren's
SLE
RA
dermato/poly
PBC
scleroderma
2
Q

ANA with nucleolar pattern

A

Scleroderma

3
Q

Hashimotos

A

Target: thyroglobulin, thyroid peroxidase

4
Q

Graves

A

Target tsh receptor

5
Q

Goodpasture syndrome

A

Target type 4 collagen

6
Q

Addison

A

Target cytochrome P450 antigens

7
Q

Peripheral (rim) pattern

A

dsDNA seen in SLE and drug induced lupus

8
Q

ANA homogenous pattern seen in

A

Target is DNA histone complexes
SLE
drug induced lupus
RA

9
Q

RA associated with which haplotype

A

HLA DR4

10
Q

Acquired C1 inhibitor deficiency

A

Age 30 or more
Clinically similar to hereditary angioedema
recurrent angioedema without pruritis or urticaria
70 percent associated NHL or MGUS or other lymphoproliferative disorder or cancer
Most have autoAb against C1 inhibitor protein but precise path not defined
Check NO family hx
Test C4 C1q and C1 inhibitor level . Then low C1 inhibitor function obtained to clinch dx
Don’t use ACEI as bradykinin is the mediator

11
Q

Autoimmune hepatitis type 2

A

Anti-liver/kidney microsomal-1 (anti-LKM-1) antibodies
Anti-liver cytosol-1 (anti-LC1) antibodies
Anti-SLA/LP

12
Q

PBC

A

AMA

13
Q

Autoimmune hepatitis type 1

A

Antinuclear antibodies (ANA)
Anti-smooth muscle antibodies (ASMA)
Anti-actin antibodies (AAA)
Anti-soluble liver/liver pancreas antigen (anti-SLA/LP)- most specific
Atypical perinuclear antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (pANCA)
Antimitochondrial antibodies (AMA)
