Those who need more frequent screening for cervical cancer (usually annual):

A

Patients w/ HIV infection
Patients who are immunosuppressed (SLE)
Those who had in utero DES exposure
Women who have been treated for CIN2, CIN3 or cervical cancer

Breast Cancer Mammography Screening Recommendations

A

Mammograms yearly beginning at age 40
USPSTF recommend:
Biennial screening mammography for women 50-74 years

DIGITAL RECTAL EXAMINATION (DRE)

A

Can detect tumors in the posterior and lateral aspects of the prostate—85% of tumors are peripheral
Can not detect those that are not peripheral
No controlled studies have shown a reduction in the morbidity or mortality of prostate CA when detected by DRE at any age!

Prostate Cancer Screening recommendations

A

USPSTF: Recommends against PSA based screening for prostate cancer.
The greatest benefit of screening appears to be in men ages 55 to 69 years

LUNG CANCER SCREENING RECOMMENDATIONS USPSTF, ACS:

A

Recommends annual screening for lung cancer with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) in adults aged 55 to 80 years who have a 30 pack-year smoking history and currently smoke or have quit within the past 15 years
