1
Q

Give 3 features of plant cell which are not found in animal cells

A
  • cell wall
  • chloroplasts
  • permanent vacuole
2
Q

Where do most chemical reactions take place in a cell?

A

The cytoplasm

3
Q

Name three organs in the human digestive system.

A

Stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver

4
Q

What chemical produced by the liver aids digestion?

A

Bile

5
Q

Give two differences between a plant leaf cell and a yeast cell.

A

Leaf cells have chloroplasts and a cell wall made of cellulose, yeast doesn’t have chloroplasts and its cell wall doesn’t contain cellulose

6
Q

When and in which direction which diffusion take place in solids?

A

When separated by a cell membrane, particles will move from a high to low concentration

7
Q

What is meant by the term differentiation of cells?

A

When cells divide but are very similar, as the tissues form the cell chance to form particular cells with particular functions

8
Q

How is a leaf cell adapted to carry out photosynthesis?

A

With mesophyll tissues containing chloroplasts

9
Q

Describe in detail what happens to food as it passes through the digestive system.

A

The insoluble food is mixed with digestive juices from the glands, it is then digested by the stomach and small intestine with help from bile from the liver. The food is then absorbed by the small intestine and water is absorbed by the large intestine

10
Q

List the structures which are found in both animal and plant cells.

A

Cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, mitochondria, ribosomes
