Q

What are the main characteristics of criterion measures?

A
  1. Ultimate vs Actual Criterion: the ultimate criterion is the accurate and complete measure of performance, whereas actual is the way performance is actually measured.
  2. Relevance: criterion construct validity-degree to which it measures the ultimate criterion.
  3. Deficiency: degree to which the actual criterion DOES NOT measure all aspects of the ultimate criterion (limits criterion relevance)
Contamination: when actual criterion assesses factors other than those it was designed to measure (limits relevance).
