Q

What causes hyperlordosis?

A

weak abdominals
tight paraspinals
tight psoas
high heels and boots

2
Q

What causes anterior pelvic tilt?

A

weak hamstrings
weak glutes
tight quadriceps
high heels and boots

3
Q

Does anterior or posterior pelvic tilt cause hyperlordosis?

A

anterior pelvic tilt

4
Q

What causes hypolordosis?

A

tight abdominals
weak paraspinals
weak psoas
sandals

5
Q

What causes posterior pelvic tilt?

A

tight hamstrings
tight glutes
weak quadriceps
sandals

6
Q

What does psoas motion include:

A

1) increase lordosis

2) flexes the hip and trunk

7
Q

Psoas is synergist to abdominals in trunk flexion but antagonist with ….

A

lordosis

8
Q

Weak abdominals causes

A

hyperlordosis

9
Q

Tight paraspinals causes

A

hyperlordosis

10
Q

Tight psoas causes

A

hyperlordosis

11
Q

High Heels and Boots causes

A

hyperlordosis and anterior pelvic tilt

12
Q

Weak hamstrings causes

A

hyerlordosis (anterior pelvic tilt)

13
Q

Weak glutes causes

A

hyerlordosis (anterior pelvic tilt)

14

A

hypolordosis (posterior pelvic tilt)

19
Q

tight glutes causes

A

hypolordosis (posterior pelvic tilt)

20
Q

weak quadriceps causes

A

hypolordosis (posterior pelvic tilt)

21
Q

Why is bracing used

A

used in a variety of exercise postures to strengthen core muscles by tightening transverse abdominis

22
Q

What muscle does bracing tighten

A

transverse abdominis

23
Q

How do you perform the Cat-Camel

A

patient kneels on all fours, hunches then arches their back

24
Q

What happens when you do the Cat part of the Cat-Camel

A

Contract Paraspinals

Stretch Abdomen

25
Q

What happens when you do the Camel part of the Cat-Camel

A

Contract Abdomen

Stretch Paraspinals

26
Q

Quadruped - Flexion Bridge: types

A

Bird Dog: lifting opposite leg and arm out straight
Cat-Camel
Dynamic Ball Under Belly: lift one extremity or more while balancing
Superman on Ball: (back extension) face down, abdomen over ball and feet braced against the wall / arch head and trunk upward

27
Q

Quadrupen - Extension Bridge: types

A

(lie on floor supine then lift buttocks off the floor)
Double Leg Bridge: both feet on floor
Single Leg Bridge: extend one knee out straight
Hamstring Curl: supine with feet on a dynamic ball, abdominal brace, bridge pelvis up

28
Q

Supine and Table Top – Dead Bug

A

lie on back supine with right leg straight, left knee bent, foot on floor.
Palm of right hand under back
Raise left arm over head
Abdominal bracing
Slowly draw opposite arm and leg together over abdomen
Key is to “crunch” lower ribs down without using posterior pelvic tilt

29
Q

Supine and Table Top – Curl Up

A

lie on floor supine, both hands under small of back
one knee bent, one knee straight
abdominal brace
raise head and trunk (to shoulder blades) off the floor

30
Q

Piriformis Stretch (sciatica) – not part of the core muscle

A

supine

cross leg over the other leg and stretch
