  • Science of collecting and interpreting data to make inferences about real world

  • Describe by central tendency, variability, maximum, shape, etc

Descriptive Statistics

  • Describes a phenomenon
  • Describes the Range (max- min)
  • Ex. Level of monoamine axidase activity in blood

  • Able to make generalized conclusions (usually with experiments or comparing to other natural groups)

  • The result unlikely to have occurred by chance if the null hypothesis is true
