Quadrant / kemp's test

Lumbar
Examiner stands behind and fist out to Pte's lumbar. Pte lean back. Examiner then rests arm on pte's shoulder, and uses elbow to push pte's shoulder down. Then uses both hands to grab pte's two shoulder, then rotate pte.
+ Pain
! Lumbar facet dysfunction or IVFE

Valsalva

Lumbar
Bowel movement
+ Pain along the spine
! SOL (space occupying lesion)

Sitting root test

Lumbar
(Modified slump test)
Pte seats and flex neck down, slouch and kneed extended
+ Pain in lower back
! Sciatica

Prone knee bending test

Lumbar
Pte lay down prone. Flex (raise) knee, bringing heel to buttock.
+ Pain in the lumbar
! L2 or L3 nerve root lesion. SI joint dysfunction

Femoral nerve traction test

Lumbar
(Flamingo Dance)
Pte Side lying (affected side up). Examiner stands at end, grab pte's foot from top, and use the other hand to grab the pte's knee from front. Then step back and extend Pte's leg, then step up to flex pte's knee
+ Pain radiating down the anterior thigh
! Femoral nerve neuropathy

Crossed femoral stretching test

Lumbar
(Same as "femoral nerve tractin test except affected side down)
Lumbar
+ Pain in groin and hips
! L3 nerve root lesion

Quick

Lumbar
1) Pte squat down and bounces a few times and return to standing (2) balance on one leg and bounces a few times
+ Pain in lower extremities
! Lower extremities joint pathology

Straight leg raise (SLR) nerve traction test

Lumbar
Both sides but unaffected side first: (1) Pte lays face up. Legs, adduct. Examiner stands side, medial rotate foot and lift entire foot by placing one hand below the ankle and one hand below the knee. (2) Pte flex chin to chest (Sotohall) (3) drops foot 5 degree, Examiner dorsiflexes the foot by grabbing the media side of foot
+ Low back pain
! 0-70 Sciatica or lumbar pathology. >70 SI joint pathology

Well leg raise (WLR)

Lumbar
Same as SLR but unaffected side only. Also no Sotohall or dorsiflexion
+ Low back pain
! Medial disc herniation

Double leg raise (DLR)

Lumbar
Both hands thumbs DOWN and scoop up under the ankle, then lift legs up.
+ LBP
! 0-70 SI joint pathology, >70 lumbar pathology
