Q

Distance time graph characteristics

A

Stationary- horizontal line
Constant speed- a straight line which slopes upwards
Gradient- shows object’s speed

1
Q

What is the distance, time and speed relationship?

A

Distance = time x speed

2
Q

What is velocity?

A

Velocity is speed in a given direction.

3
Q

What is acceleration?

A

Acceleration is the change of velocity per second. The unit is m/s^2

4
Q

How do you work out the acceleration?

A

Acceleration = change of velocity / time taken.

5
Q

What is deceleration?

A

Deceleration is the change of velocity per second when an object SLOWS down.

6
Q

Characteristics of a velocity time graph

A

Horizontal line- acceleration is zero ( either constant speed or stationary)
Gradient- acceleration
Area under the line- distance travelled
