When should croup be managed in the hospital?
Mod-Severe (stridor, sternal retraction, distress/lethargy)
Uncertain diagnosis (epiglottitis, quinsy, foreign body)
Esp if under 6months
Treatment of croup
Oral dexamethasone 0.15mg/kg
What route should be avoided in paediatrics?
Difference between unlicensed and off-label
Unlicensed: Outside of marketing authorisation
Off-label: Licensed medication for an unlicensed application
