Q

Speech Detection Threshold (SRT)

A

Measure of sensitivity
Lowest level DB which speech can be understood
Uses spondees “greyhound, hotdog”
Correlates w/ Pure Tone Thresholds @ 500, 1000, 2000 Hz!

Q

Word Recognition Scores (WRT)

A

Speech discrimination task: ID a word that was just spoken (% correct)
CANNOT be predicted from a pure tone audiogram
Use phonetically balanced word lists
If conduction, should get 100% (if loud enough) b/c cochlea intact
