What are the UTIs?
glomerulo enphritis, pyelonephritis, nephrotic syndrome
glomerulo enphritis:
streptococcal infection, hematuria, RBC casts, proteinuria, HBP, and edema
pyelonephritis:
WBC casts, bilateral, inflammation of the renal pelvis
nephrotic syndrome:
prolonged protein permiability (proteinuria and hypoalbumenuria)
What are the LTIs?
urethritis and cystitis
Urethritis:
E coli, could lead to scaring
Cystitis:
common female infection, bladder infection
Broad UTIs (systemic):
PID, STDs
PID:
infection of female GI/GU
Prostate disorders:
Benign Prostate Hypertrophy, prostatitis, and cancer
Benign Prostate Hypertrophy:
lateral lobe, + or - urination and painful dysuria
prostatitis:
inflammation of prostate, infective gram -, chills, fever, urinary frequency, urgency, and LBP
Prostate cancer:
posterior lobe, men over 50, slow, progressive, urethral obstruction, hematuria, pyruia, and blastic metastasis, to the pelvis and lumbar spine
Inguinal hernia:
abnormal protrusion of tissue, may need surgery to prevent strangulation of testes
Balanitis:
inflammation of glans penis and prepuce
Orchitis:
testicular inflammation
phimosis:
constriction of foreskin, cannot be retracted
Hypospadias:
urethral defect on ventral surface “boots”
Epispadias:
urethral defect on dorsal surface “goggles”
Priapism:
painful, persistant, abnormal erection
Peyeronie’s disease:
dysplasia of cavernous sheaths with fibrosis, aka crooked penis
hydrocele:
generalized swelling in scrotum
