A

the term used to define episodes of SUDI where there is no other cause identified on post mortem

What are the 3 risks for SUDI that exacerbate each other?

A

critical development age - 2-4 months of age
vulnerable infant - preterm birth, smoking
exogenous stress - prone position, overheating, head covering, co sleeping, infection

A
infants with an acute illness - URTI, otitis media
preterm
congenital anomaly
multiple births
small for gestational age
poor housing/overcrowding
substance missuse of parents
alcohol >2 units in last 24hours
swaddling
sleeping prone or side sleeping
co sleeping
depression in mother
