3
Q

Name the muscle and the nerve/vein/artery that supports it:

A

Trapezius!

Innervated by the Accessory Nerve - Cranial Nerve XI

The TRANSVERSE CERVICAL arteries and veins provide vasculature

4
Q

How would you identify an individual with damage to the accessory nerve?

A

If it is unilateral, they would have a droopy shoulder or weakness in one side. Bilateral would have problems like that bilaterally.

5
Q
A
6
Q

The rhomboid muscles and levator scapuli are supplied by which nerve?

A

dorsal scapular nerve

7
Q
A
8
Q

What body movements are cuased by the latissimus dorsi?

AND

What nerve and artery supply this muscle?

A

It extends, adducts and medially rotates the upper extremity.

Thoracodorsal artery/nerve

9
Q

Primary function of the rhombus major?

A

Retract the scapula!

10
Q

Muscle?

Artery?

Nerve?

A

Anterior Serratus

Lateral Thoracic Artery

Long Thoracic Nerve

11
Q

What occurs in the case of damage to the long thoracic nerve?

A
12
Q

The triangle of asculatation is formed by what structures?

A

Formed by the Trapezius, Scapula (medial border), Latissimus dorsi

(Good to listen here because lack of dense muscle and bone in the way of lung sounds)

13
Q

What structures form the quadrilateral space?

What passes through the center of the quadrilateral space?

A

Teres minor, teres major, long head of triceps, humerus

The axillary nerve passes though it penetrates deep into the deltoid muscle, and the posterior circumflex humeral artery and vein

14
Q

What structure lies deep to the acromion and deltoid that is used for cushioning?

A

subacromial bursa

15
Q

What nerve innervates this muscle?

A

axillary nerve

16
Q

4 muscles that make up the rotator cuff?

A

SITS!

Supraspinatus

Infraspinatus

Teres Minor

Subscapularis

17
Q

What nerves and arteries are supplying these muscles?

A
18
Q

Identify this muscle and its innervation!

A

Tada!

19
Q

What nerve innervates this muscle?

A

Suprascapular nerve

20
Q

Quickly name the innervations:

1-Trapezius

2- Supra and Infra spinatus

3 - Teres minor and deltoid

4 - Rhomboid major and minor

5 - Levator scapulae

6 - Latissimus dorsi

7 - Teres major

8 - Serratus anterior

A

1 -Trapezius CN XI – Accessory nerve

2 - Supra/Infra spinatus Suprascapular nerve

3 - Teres minor and Deltoid Axillary nerve

4 - Rhomboid major and minor Dorsal scapular nerve

5 - Levator scapulae Dorsal scapular nerve

6 - Latissimus dorsi Thoracodorsal nerve

7 - Teres major Lower subscapular nerve

8 - Serratus anterior Long thoracic nerve
