Suspected lower GI (colorectal) cancer.

a) Refer if aged >40 with unexplained…? (2)

A

a) Weight loss and abdominal pain
b) Rectal bleeding
c) Change in bowel habit OR iron-deficiency anaemia OR positive faecal occult blood (FOB) test
d) Abdominal/rectal mass
e) Weight loss, abdominal pain, iron deficiency anaemia, change in bowel habit
f) FOB
g) Unexplained anal mass or ulceration
h) Reassure, look out for red flags, review in agreed time-frame for anyone not meeting criteria but presenting some unexplained symptoms

Neck mass.

a) 2-week wait for what red flags?
b) Also, any mass persisting beyond 6 weeks should be referred routinely to… (derm, ENT, oral surgeon, etc.)

A

a) Weight loss, haemoptysis, dysphagia, dypshonia, dyspnoea >3/52, lymphoma B symptoms, unexplained large lymph node or unclear diagnosis.
b) 6 weeks
