Q

What are 4 weaknesses of WMM

A

OP.A - MSM more emphasis on rehearsal
RL - brain-damaged patients are rare
TL - EB and CE not fully explained, vague
Difficult to distinguish between episodic and semantic LTM

Q

Outline dual task performance

A

Asked to perform 2 tasks at the same time: repeat a list of numbers and answer true/false questions

Q

What were the findings of dual task performance?

A

Study showed that CE was used in true/false and phonological loop in digit task.
Suggests it is easier to do two tasks at the same time if they use different processing systems than if they use the same slave system.
