Adult: 1.5-2g/kg IV,io slow bonus or infusion

Pedi: 0.25-0.5g/kg over 60 min

A
  • rapid admin. Can cause transient volume overload and chf
  • dieresis can cause sodium depletion
  • crystallization begins as temp reaches 45 f. , always use in-line filter
