Dose
A
Adult: 1.5-2g/kg IV,io slow bonus or infusion
Pedi: 0.25-0.5g/kg over 60 min

Precautions
A
- rapid admin. Can cause transient volume overload and chf
- dieresis can cause sodium depletion
- crystallization begins as temp reaches 45 f. , always use in-line filter
