Prodrug that is used because it can cross BBB, there it can be converted into dopamine to treat Parkinson’s

Why is this advantageous for Levadopa therapy?

A

Carbidopa!

Inhibits AAAD in periphery and does not cross BBB, this is great becuz then it doesn’t interfere with action in the CNS
