How did television influence the McCarthy hearings and the election of 1960

A

The American public was in agreement with McCarthy until the television broadcasts of the Army hearings. Although his views were correct, McCarthy seemed sarcastic and stern.

Kennedy and Nixon debated on television in 1960. Nixon, ahead in the polls at the time, seemed unsure of himself. Those listening by radio said Nixon won the debates. But because television had greater impact, Kennedy won the election.
