Q

What is the molar gas equation at RTP?

What does this equation mean?

A

n (moles) = V (dm3) / 24 (dm3)

1 mole of any gas = 24 dm3 at RTP.
Hence molar gas volume has the units 24 dm3 mol-1.

Q

What is the equation for percentage yeild?

A

% yeild = (actual yeild / theoretical yeild) x 100

2 methods:
1) (Actual mass / theoretical mass) x 100
2) (Actual moles / theoretical moles) x 100

Q

What is the equation to calculate heat energy?

A

q = m x c x ΔT

q = heat transferred in J
m = mass of water in g
c = the specific heat capacity
ΔT = the temperature change
