Q

Who was the last English monarch to die in battle?

A

Richard III

Richard III was King of England -

1483 until his death in 1485.

His defeat and death at the Battle of Bosworth Field marked the end of the Middle Ages in England.

Richard III’s body was discovered under a council car park in Leicester in 2012 by archaeologists from the University of Leicester, who confirmed its identity in 2013.

The remains, which included a battle-scarred skeleton with spinal curvature, were found in the former site of the Greyfriars Friary where he was originally buried after his death at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485.

After extensive testing and planning, his remains were reinterred in Leicester Cathedral in 2015.

Who owned Bagpuss?
Emily ## Footnote Emily Role: In the show's opening, Emily is a little girl who owns a shop that is a home for lost property. Each day, she finds a lost or broken item and brings it back to the shop, placing it in front of her favorite "saggy old cloth cat" before leaving. Inspiration: The character was played by Emily Firmin, the real-life daughter of the show's co-creator, Peter Firmin. Incantation: She recites a special rhyme to awaken the magical Bagpuss and his toy friends, who then work together to identify and mend the object. Bagpuss Role: Bagpuss is a magical, saggy cloth cat who lives in Emily's shop. He is described as the "most important, the most beautiful, the most magical" cat in the world. Powers: When Emily leaves, Bagpuss wakes up, and the show switches from sepia-toned photos to color stop-motion animation. He brings his toy friends—Professor Yaffle, Gabriel the toad, Madeleine the rag doll, and the musical mice—to life to help fix the item Emily found. Legacy: Despite only 13 episodes ever being made in 1974, the program became a timeless classic that holds a special place in the memories of generations of viewers.
