A

Function: Remembers experience and helps to trigger appropriate repsonse with experience again; adis in conditioned responses, fear..

Loc: beneath the uncus of the limbic lobe, anterior hippocampal area, inferior horn of the lateral ventricle

Collection of nuclei divided into the medial, central and basolateral groups.
