• spotting tile with iodine and amylase
• fill a spotting tile with iodine
• heat to 20* then add amylase
• every minute add a sample of the solution to the spotting tile
• (orange to blue black when starch present) find time taken for no colour change to occur
• repeat with 30,40,50
