What is a parametric test
A test used when the data is parametric (something which can be normally measured, usually normally distributed)
What is a non-parametric test
Used when data is non-parametric - cannot be assumed to be following a normal distribution
Example of parametric test
T-test. Pearsons product-moment coefficient
Example of non-parametric tests
Mann-Whitney U test - unpaired data
Wilcoxon signed-rank test - compares two sets of observations on a single sample
Chi-squared test - used to compare proportions or percentages
Spearman, Kendall rank - correlation
