Flight reference decks are to be used for in-flight reference and will contain all essential practical knowledge required for a calibration task. Training decks can be used for initial training for each tier of flight inspection and for currency at any point. They are set out into the below categories: - Mild: To be used for very initial introduction to radio navigation and will include a baseline understanding of each navaid. - Medium: The main knowledge used for flight calibration aimed mainly at training for tier 1. This deck should be the main focus for currency. - Hot: Higher level knowledge aimed more towards use after tier 1. Includes NATS specific requirements. - Extra Hot: The highest level of knowledge available for each nav-aid. Limited practical use for calibration. - Calculations and equations
