1

When do we do anaerobic respiration?

When your muscles can't get enough oxygen quickly enough for aerobic respiration

2

Why is anaerobic respiration not efficient?

It gives you much less energy

3

What happens to glucose in anaerobic respiration?

It is not completely broken down so lactic acid is produced

4

What is the word equation for anaerobic respiration?

Glucose ---> lactic acid

5

What is the chemical equation for anaerobic respiration?

c6h12o6 ---> 2c3h6o3

6

Name a cause of muscle fatigue.

The build up of lactic acid

7

Why do fitter people have a shorter recovery time?

They have bigger lungs

8

What is oxygen debt?

Getting oxygen to where the lactic acid is in the body, called recovery time

9

How many miles of oxygen do we need to recover 2 miles of lactic acid?

6

10

How can lactic acid be removed?

From oxygen in the blood stream oxidises the lactic acid into water and carbon dioxide

11

What is anaerobic respiration?

Respiration without oxygen
