we will learn how technology fundamentally changes businesses, why excutives try to find ways to use new technology to create a sustainable competitive advantage, asses, evaluate, and apply emerging information technology to business, as well as attain knowledge needed by future business professsionals

A

We live in a technological revolution where if companies can’t keep up they will fall. With MIS we have the background needed to assess, evaluate, and apply emerging information systems tech to business, gain marketable skills by helping you learn abstraction, systems thinking, collaboration, and experimentation

What are Bell’s, Moore’s, and Metcalfe’s Laws and the impacts they have today?

A

Moore’s law is that “the number of transistors per square inch on an integrated chip doubles every 18 months” and it means that computers are getting exponentially faster and the costs of data processing is nearing zero

Metcalfe’s law is that “the value of a network is equal to the number of users connected to it” and it means that more devices are being connected together and the value of social and digital networks is rising exponentially (twitter making bank)

Bell’s law is that “each new class of computers establishes a new industry each decade and gives way to new platforms, programming environments, industries, networks, and information systems”

What is Moore’s law vs. NASA

A

so moore’s law states that the number of transistors on the chip will rise exponentially, and the example given it how the iPhone 5 is much more powerful than the device used to get to the moon.

Your data has to be:

  3. Relevant

How do you practice good password safety and etiquette?

A

you need to make a safe, strong password, preferably by taking the front letter of each word in a phrase, don’t give out your password, and look away when others are typing in their passwords
