Species specific
Only members of the same species will do and respond to that courtship behaviour
Why is courtship behaviour beneficial?
Allows members of the same species to recognise each other, preventing inbreeding and making reproduction more successful as mating with the wrong species wont produce fertile offspring
Why can courtship be used to classify organisms?
It is species specific
The more closely related species are, the more similar their courtship behaviour is
