explain two processes in the formation of offshore bars
A
offshore bars can be created when waves approach the shore but break on a submerged bar, this causes deposition of larger material that they are carrying so an offshore bar can be built up.
offshore bars are created when berms are eroded by destructive waves. sediment from these berms is then deposited offshore in a low energy area causing offshore bars to be created which acts as sediment sinks.
