How would the Axillary Nerve become Damaged?
Traction and Compression following an Anterior Shoulder Dislocation.
What is the Axillary Nerve?
Neuropathy which describes Loss of Movement or Sensation in the Shoulder.
Where does the Musculocutaneous Nerve arise from?
- C5, C6, C7
- Lateral Cord of Brachial Plexus
What may entrap the Musculocutaneous Nerve and cause irritation.
- Compression due to Hypertrophy or Entrapment between the Biceps and Brachialis Fascia.
- Stretched through a Dislocation.
What happens if the Musculocutaneous Nerve is Injured.
Weakness in Elbow Flexion and Supination of the Forearm.
Sensory disturbance affects the radial side of forearm.
What is the Radial Nerve and where does it Originate from?
- A Nerve that supplies the Posterior Portion of the Upper Limbs.
- Brachial Plexus, carrying Fibers from the ventral roots of Spinal Nerves C5, C6, C7, C8 and T1.
Where does the Ulnar Nerve Originate and Branch off from?
- C8-T1 Nerve Roots.
- Medial Cord of the Brachial Plexus.
What does the Ulnar Nerve Innervate:
- Flexion and Adduction of Wrist.
- Flexes distal Phalanges.
What 2 Injuries cause Symptoms of Ulnar Nerve Entrapment?
- Cubital Tunnel Syndrome.
- Guyon’s Canal Syndrome.
