Anywhere from the large intestine to the rectum.

Fourth most common cancer in UK (after breast, prostate and lung).

Rare below 40 years of age (<1%)

Rectal bleeding
Change in bowel habit (typically increased frequency)
Loose stools

Positive predictive value for bowel cancer of rectal bleeding:

Around 6%

Palpable rectal mass

Investigations for suspected bowel cancer

FBC (anaemia)
Colonoscopy (visible lesion), consider biopsy
Double contrast barium enema

CT thorax, abdomen, pelvis (mets)
