1
Q

Iliacus

A

Attaches to the lesser trochanter of the femur

Pulls the femur up, flexes the thigh and hip joint lines the iliac fossa

2
Q

Psoas Major

A

Attaches at the trochanter
Comes from the flank
Contracts with the iliacs, does the same as the ilacus, Often called the same muscles but with two segments

3
Q

Psosa Minor

A
Ends at the pelivs
Not a sigfig muscle
Not responsible for walking
only in 60% of people
Very eep in the pevlic region
4
Q

Sartorius

A

Tailor muslce
Used it when you sit down and cross legs,
Longest muscle of the the body
Flex hip and knee joint

5
Q

Rectus Femoris

A

Straight portion
Only one of four quadriceps that originates at the pelvis
Others originate at the femur,
Flexes the hip joint

6
Q

Vastus

A
Large, wide, thick and strong
Lateralis and medialis
Muscles fibers run toward the knee
Intermedius much deeper
Quads move the patella
Tendon and ligament pull and extend the knee joint
7
Q

Fascia Lata

A

Embrace the buttox and thigh, and first portion of the leg
Wraps around the legs
Holds the components of muscles together

8
Q

Iliotibial band

A

Can be cut and rotated into the knee joint, replace torn ligaments

9
Q

5 muscles on the inside of the thigh

A

Act to adduct the limb, back into anatomical postion

10
Q

Tensor facia Lata

A

Stabilization of the knee, weight bearing, flexes when weight is put on it

11
Q

Gracilis

A

Groin pulled this muscle

Can rip in awkward falls

12
Q

Pectineus

A

Pelvis to groin

13
Q

Adductor Brevis

A

Deep to longus and magmus can be torn/ ripped

14
Q

Gluteus Maximus

A

Powerful extensor
used when jumping, important to proper walking
protects the ischial tuberosity

15
Q

Stroke

A

Will effect the gluteal muscles and effect walking

16
Q

Hamstring muscles

A

Butchers noticed that other side was long and stringy

All these muscles originate at the ischial tuberosity

17
Q

Dorsiflexion

A

Walking on heels, uses the tibialis anterior lifts toes

18
Q

Big toes has two tendons

A

Extensor hallucis longus and extensor digitorum brevis

19
Q

Plantarflexion

A

Walking on toes Push off in walking phase

20
Q

Calf Muscles

A

Gastrocneumis and soleus

21
Q

High heels

A

Shorten the achilleus

22
Q

Plantar fassa

A

Thicker than the palm by A LOT

Muscles of the foot are the same as hands

23
Q

Meniscus

A

Torn = joint will lock, cannot be repaired only removed

Medial is torn more.
